This week’s Michael Cole YouTube interview (back on Wednesdays!) features WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens.
KO and Cole have long had a contentious relationship - kind of like pretty much every announcer and interviewer in the company, with the possible exception of Corey Graves - so the champ tormenting the voice of Raw is most of the appeal of their chat.
There aren’t any major kayfabe revelations, but Owens does reaffirm his place on the list of people who had no idea Triple H was going to get involved in the Aug. 29 fourway elimination match which determined who would hold the Universal title.
I had no idea what was coming. But Triple H did the right thing. He made things right.
He also pushes the idea that his Clash of Champions opponent Seth Rollins has been “a failure” since his return from a knee injury, saying Rollins’ inability to beat Dean Ambrose is the reason Raw needed a new title in the first place. Owens says he’ll beat Roman Reigns next Monday to keep the Big Dog out of the pay-per-view (PPV) title fight, but even if he doesn’t, he’s not worried. He beat those two before.
After all, it’s The Kevin Owens Show.
