Tonight’s (Sept. 6, 2016) episode of SmackDown Live in Lincoln, Nebraska saw the semifinals of the tag team title tournament, where two teams would advance to battle over the blue titles at Backlash this coming weekend in Richmond.
American Alpha advanced by defeating The Usos in a quick match, one that saw Jimmy and Jey turn heel immediately after. They ran an injury angle with Chad Gable, as the twins wrecked his leg.
An update later in the show called him “questionable” for this Sunday night.
Later, Heath Slater & Rhyno used teamwork to make the dream work and dispatched of the Hype Brothers to cement their spot in the final. All this with Slater’s many kids in attendance not to mention his big old refrigerator of an angle.
