As of last week, WWE had revealed seven names for Raw’s new cruiserweight division - set to kick off in two weeks on Sept. 19.
This video aired during last night’s episode (Sept. 5), and introduces three more names:
According to PWInsider, this fills out the division - at least for now - since plans call for a ten person group who will work Raw on Monday nights while also appearing on NXT episodes and house shows.
If true, here is your initial 2016 WWE cruiserweight division:
Cedric Alexander
Tommaso Ciampa
Noam Dar
Jack Gallagher
Johnny Gargano
Gran Metalik
Brian Kendrick
TJ Perkins
Rich Swann
Akira Towzawa
This appears to confirm reports Kota Ibushi and Zack Sabre, Jr., two of the biggest international stars in WWE Network’s Cruiserweight Classic (CWC) tournament, turned down offers to sign with the company.
Look for the cruiserweights to start showing up on Monday nights after the big, live finale of the CWC on Sept. 14. That show will feature the semi-finals and finals of the 32 man tourney, rounds for which only Metalik, out of the Raw-bound talents, is confirmed at this time.
