Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.
Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.
Rumors for the Day:
- It’s possible Cesaro’s contract is up soon, and the Sheamus tag team is a way to use him while he’s locked up without pushing him in case he opts to not re-sign. If he decides to leave, the team will be broken up to write him off and elevate the Irishman.
- Dolph Ziggler, on the other hand, has at least a year left on his deal. But it’s possible he could lose to Miz at No Mercy, take time off and return with a different gimmick.
- There’s reportedly some heat in the business at large on Cruiserweight champ TJ Perkins for mentioning “being homeless” in his WWE promos. Wrestling Observer claims a lot of indie wrestlers go through that, and object to his using the situation to garner sympathy.
- In other news from the division, Noam Dar is expected to debut on Raw in October. Gran Metalik (Máscara Dorada) will likely not be back until he finishes up commitments in his native Mexico.
- WWE is promoting Jim Ross’ one-man show in Toronto during Survivor Series weekend, but it’s not expected to lead to any changes in their business relationship.
