WWE Clash of Champions 2016: The New Day vs. Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows full match preview

WWE

WHO?

Ettore Ewen, Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah, and Austin Watson, aka Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods. Combined, they are The New Day.

Andrew Hankinson and Chad Allegra, aka Luke Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson. Along with AJ Styles, they are The Club.

WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING?

Seems The Club have been on a retirement kick lately. I guess it's a step above being obsessed with balls.

WHAT ARE THEY FIGHTING FOR?

The W. W. E. World. Tag. Team. Championship. (RAW subdivision) Basically the copper belts.

HISTORY

Did you know The New Day are the longest reigning WWE Tag Team Championship since this version of the belts was introduced in 2002? Today is day #399. In a row. Even without their first run that was interrupted by the Prime Time Players for some reason, they would hold the record. But if you include the original WWE tag titles (the ones that don't look like pennies), that record belongs to Demolition at 478 days.

Did you know that Karl Anderson is one half of the longest reigning IWGP Tag Team Champions ever? It's true. He and Giant Bernard (you may have known him as Prince Albert in a past life) were tag champions for 564 days in a row. IN A ROW. But Luke and Karl? Turns out they're fourth all-time at an even 365 days.

I guess this is where I show something relevant to this match. So... here ya go.

Naah, I'll show it, thanks.

Now some in-ring stuff.

Here's the group formerly known as The Bullet Club retiring The Dudley Boyz.

WHO WINS?

As much as I'd like to see the New Day march towards history...

WINNER

It will be a new day for the tag team division at Clash of Champions. I got Festus and That Dude I Know From Somewhere.
