Rumor Roundup (Sept. 23, 2016): Women headlining WWE PPV, Emma on Raw, SmackDown group, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • WWE has apparently kicked around the idea of having the women headline a PPV, possibly with Sasha Banks and Bayley like they did in NXT.
  • Emma being brought to Raw doesn't mean she'll be on that brand when she returns but "it does look likely," per the Observer.
  • There's apparently been talk of doing a "Varsity Club/shooters" group on SmackDown involving Shelton Benjamin, Jack Swagger, and Dolph Ziggler, according to the Observer.
  • There is apparently another serious possible bidder for TNA and if they get the company they'll be looking to make a big splash in pro wrestling.
  • In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter it's noted that Devon Dudley may take a job as an agent with WWE and Bubba Ray would work the independent scene as a singles star.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
