Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Usos set for WWE No Mercy 2016

Chad Gable, after missing the last couple weeks of shows with an MCL injury, returned to television on tonight’s (Sept. 20, 2016) episode of SmackDown Live in Birmingham, Alabama for a number one contender match. Indeed, American Alpha was booked to battle The Usos with the winner earning a crack at Heath Slater & Rhyno for the SmackDown tag team titles at No Mercy on Oct. 9 in Sacramento.

The Usos repeatedly attacked Gable’s bad knee. Late in the match, Jason Jordan was going to tag him in but made the decision not to because he wanted to protect his teammate.

Jimmy & Jey took advantage, getting the drop on Jordan, taking Gable out, and scoring the pinfall to earn the title shot at the pay-per-view.
