It was the moment many were waiting for. After months of the highly praised Cruiserweight Classic (CWC), the cruiserweight division was introduced on WWE Raw tonight (Sept. 19, 2016) in Memphis, Tennessee.
After talking up the CWC, General Manager Mick Foley introduced four men, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander, Gran Metalik, and Brian Kendrick. He then let the men know these four men would have a Fatal 4-way to decide the first challenger for TJ Perkins’ cruiserweight championship. (Perkins himself was, interestingly enough, not on the show).
After the introduction was given one segment of time, the match itself got two, giving the division much of the third hour in their debut. The crowd was a bit quiet for the early goings of the match, but the men drew them all in soon enough.
Brian Kendrick ended up picking the win in the match by submitting Cedric Alexander. Throughout the match, Kendrick was rather brutal with his offense, doing whatever he needed to win and showing a bit of a mean streak.

Now Brian Kendrick, the most familiar face for WWE fans, is the first man to face TJP for the title, which will take place on Clash of Champions this Sunday.
Excited for to see Kendrick match up with Perkins this weekend?
