This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw drew 2.68 million viewers for WWE. The return of Monday Night Football on ESPN ate into viewership, as it always does. But while that means numbers are down for the red brand, it also means the blue brand has a chance to catch up without that kind of competition on Tuesday nights.
Sure enough, this week’s episode of SmackDown Live garnered 2.65 million viewers, up from last week’s 2.45 million. It was the highest audience for any show on cable last night.
In fairness, this was the fallout show from the Backlash pay-per-view (PPV) this past Sunday night and the first chance to see follow up on the crowning of two new champions in AJ Styles and Becky Lynch. It will be more interesting to see if the show can hold the audience for next week.
And maybe beat Raw.
