It was announced on Raw tonight (Sept. 12, 2016) that Chris Jericho will face Sami Zayn at Clash of Champions in two weeks.
This was set up tonight at Raw in Baltimore, when Chris Jericho was angry that General Manager Mick Foley took his best friend and longest reigning WWE Universal champion Kevin Owens off tonight’s Highlight Reel. Instead, Jericho had to settle for Owens’ former best friend Sami Zayn as a consolation guest and he was not pleased about it.
Much of the Highlight Reel was Jericho telling Zayn that since KO is so great of a person, Sami must be the reason they aren’t friends any more. Zayn eventually asked what happened to the Chris Jericho he idolized and emulated growing up. He explained it was guys like Jericho, Dean Malenko, and Eddie Guerrero, journeymen who succeeded in the WWE, that inspired him.
That didn’t sit well with Y2J, who ended up hitting Zayn in the head with his cell phone. I hope it’s still under warranty!

Now on Sept. 25 at Clash of Champions, Jericho will fight for his best friend’s honor against Sami Zayn. Zayn will try to get revenge for the iPhone attack.
Excited for this match?
