John Cena will eventually tell us why he left his armband in the ring at SummerSlam

The folks at Wrestling Inc found a video of John Cena participating in a Q&A at the Salt Lake City Comic Con recently and in it he was asked why he left his armband in the ring at SummerSlam. Cena had just lost his match to AJ Styles and hasn’t been seen on television since that night.

His response:

"That actually has a lot of significance and was a very important piece of symbolism. Unfortunately, right now it's just for me and you're going to have to wait to find out what it actually means."

INTRIGUE!

The last word going around on Cena’s absence is that he’s not actually expected to go on an actual hiatus until sometime in October. That means he could be back on SmackDown Live as early as next week, and considering AJ Styles is the new WWE world champion after Backlash, he’s got every (storyline) reason to show up.

Hopefully, then, we’ll learn the symbolism behind his leaving a wristband in the ring at SummerSlam.
