WWE Backlash 2016 results: Heath Slater and Rhyno defeat the Usos to become SmackDown tag team champions

Looks like Slater can afford that double wide now!

While the Usos were eliminated from SmackDown’s tag team championship tournament by American Alpha last week, a vicious attack on the victors gave the brothers a second chance. Earlier tonight (Sept. 11, 2016) at WWE Backlash, they defeated the Hype Bros to face fan favorites Heath Slater and Rhyno in the finals for the new SmackDown tag team championships. It was stipulated that if Slater and Rhyno won, Heath finally would earn a SmackDown Live contract.

And earn that contract he did as Heath Slater picked up the pinfall, making him and Rhyno the first SmackDown tag team champions!

Despite being beaten down the entire match by the Usos, Heath was able to tag Rhyno in for him to clean house and allow Slater to rest. Slater wouldn’t rest long as he’d tag himself back in when Rhyno knocked his head into the turnbuckle and take it to both Usos to the crowd’s delight. Rhyno would contribute more with a gore allowing Slater to pick up the pinfall.

Looks like you can upgrade to that double wide and get that above ground pool, Heath!
