We’re just hours away from WWE holding its Backlash pay-per-view (PPV) at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia and one of the top bouts on the card, Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt, is reportedly off.
Word started getting around earlier today starting here:
I'm being told Orton will NOT wrestle at #Backlash. Nursing an undisclosed injury. Was expected to be cleared by tonight, but didn't happen.

Later, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer would say something similar:
On Orton, he is believed to be off, backstage that is the word but nobody was certain, just that was the word.

Then, PW Insider would come out with a report that stated he wouldn’t be wrestling on the show because he hasn’t been cleared yet from the match he had with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. The speculation on their part is Orton may not have passed the Impact test because “the issue appears to be concussion related.”
For its part, WWE has yet to make an announcement either way and has continuously promoted the match on its digital platforms.
