Former pro wrestling star and WWE Champion CM Punk made his long awaited MMA debut at tonight’s (Sat., Sept. 10, 2016) UFC 203 pay-per-view (PPV) at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio in a welterweight fight against Mickey Gall.
He lost.
Of course he lost.
The end came just 2:14 of the very first round, and there wasn’t even a single solitary second where Punk was competitive. Gall took him down just as soon as the fight started and unloaded with punches and elbows. He did what he wanted on the ground, passing to side control, then full mount, then he had Punk’s back. Some more punches opened Punk up and it wasn’t long before Gall had him in a rear naked choke.
There was no other choice but to tap.
And so ends the CM Punk in UFC experiment. It went exactly the way everyone expected.
