Rumor Roundup (Aug. 9, 2016): WWE reshuffling roster, UFC crossover, Shelton Benjamin plans, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Word is WWE is second guessing some of the draft picks from the roster split, and Creative is looking for ways to reshuffle. Specifically mentioned were Kevin Owens going to SmackDown and Randy Orton headed to Raw.

  • Many thought Conor McGregor’s shooting on WWE over the weekend would lead to business for UFC’s Featherweight champion in pro wrestling, but, according to Dave Meltzer, the controversy may have killed some minor angle the two companies had in the pipeline.

  • Plans called for Shelton Benjamin to immediately enter the Intercontinental championship picture on SmackDown, and some feelers were sent out to Charlie Hass about returning so they could put World Greatest Tag Team in that brand's future tag title scene... but that’s all on hold/over due to Benjamin’s injury.

  • Daniel Bryan’s appearance on Aug. 8 Raw appearance was apparently done to help boost WWE’s ratings against the Olympics.

  • Roderick Strong cleared all his WWE medical tests and is expected to show up in NXT as soon as September.

If you have heard of any interesting rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are rumors and not confirmed as fact, so please take them as such. Have fun with it.
