New Day to defend tag titles against The Club at SummerSlam

Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods & Big E have held the WWE tag titles longer than any other unit in the history of that championship. But they’ve never been involved in a feud this personal... or one that so prominently featured one of the unit’s... unit.

Since coming to WWE, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows have been on a mission to establish themselves as the dominant force in the company’s tag scene. Though they were unable to take the titles from The New Day in multi-team battles, when both the champs and The Club were drafted to Raw in the brand split, it gave the two stars from New Japan the perfect opportunity to target the titles.

In order to make sure they got a championship opportunity, Anderson & Gallows decided to make it personal - and indulge in their personal passion of beating people up.

Their post-match assault on New Day last week, and specifically Big E’s nether regions, made their rivalry even more personal. And it’s ensured The Club will get another title shot in Brooklyn on Aug. 21.
