It’s the first show from Aug. 26’s taping at Full Sail (spoilers from which are here), where NXT will look to reset after TakeOver: Brooklyn II. Here's what to expect from the show.

Well, they kind of hinted we’d get a taste of this last week, but instead we got (the typically top notch) TakeOver recaps and post-match interviews.
And, I guess we know that neither new NXT champion Shinsuke Nakamura or Samoa Joe is headed to the main roster immediately, we can reasonably assume we’re getting one more showdown between the two, as Joe is being teased as responding to the King of Strong Style tonight - and should be executing his rematch clause just as soon as he’s medically cleared from that jaw injury he suffered.
How quickly that’s scheduled will probably give us an idea of when call-ups could occur for the loser of the second bout. And how Nak comes across during an in-ring promo (he’s said one of the reasons he wants to stay in NXT is to work on his English) could factor in to how quickly he ends up on Raw or SmackDown.
The Title Scene
We’ve cried our last tears for Bayley, and the Women’s title - and scene - belongs to Asuka. Who’s ready to face the undefeated champ without ending up as just another victim? When the just debuted Ember Moon looks like the best bet, there’s a lot of work to do.
The Revival were again talking heavy about having cleared out the tag scene after defeating #DIY (by the skin of their teeth) in Brooklyn. Are Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa sticking around for one more shot at the tag team championship before hitting Raw’s cruiserweight division on Sept. 19. Or are the seemingly unstoppable Authors of Pain cruising toward a heel-on-heel battle for the ages?
Other stuff to keep an eye on:
- Even though his ear has probably stopped ringing, Austin Aries is likely still pissed about Hideo Itami ruining his win over No Way Jose at TakeOver. Look for that feud to move forward, as well as a sign of what might be next for the very-over Jose.
- Speaking of very over, Tye Dillinger was met with a borderline orgasmic response from the New York crowd. Will NXT build off that, or make him disappear again?
- The Perfect Ten’s old nemesis Andrade Almas was displaying his rudo side on the house show circuit last weekend. Maybe he sticks with that after his high-profile loss to Bobby Roode, who probably won’t be booed by Full Sail no matter how much he rags on the way they dress?
- Who is Sanity, and when will we meet him/her/them?
NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.
See you tonight for NXT, Cagesiders!
