While last week’s episode of Monday Night Raw had trouble maintaining viewership, even with a solid 3.31 million viewers showing up for all the fallout from SummerSlam the night before, this week’s edition had no such problem.
Indeed, Raw was up to 3.41 million viewers overall and interest was strong all throughout the evening:
Hour one: 3.39 million
Hour two: 3.44 million
Hour three: 3.41 million
They spent the first two-and-a-half hours building to the main event, a Universal championship match that saw Triple H make a surprise return to help crown Kevin Owens the new king of the red brand. Considering viewers were up from last week, when the show had no big competition and it was the night after a major PPV, this is a big win for WWE.
Obligatory: RATINGS OWENS RATINGS.
