Smarks do give a s*** about Heath Slater's kids

Everybody who comes to Cageside Seats has an opinion about what's going on in pro wrestling - The Smark's Shoot Standings (S3) are where YOU let us know YOURS.

Cast a vote in the comments. Give us the four performers you think entertained or impressed the most in the last week, and feel free to talk about why. And/or vote for your top performer in our poll.

We also have the outcome of last week's voting, the results of which make up our annual competition for Performer of the Year.

Remember, the Standings are for the previous week's nationally televised and internet streaming pro wrestling shows - WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV), the Aug. 22 episode of Monday Night Raw, Tuesday's SmackDown Live, Wednesday's WWE NXT, the Cruiserweight Classic and ROH TV, Thursday's TNA Impact, and any other internet streaming wrestling that aired from Aug. 21 - 27, 2016.

Make YOUR mark, smarks!

In a week where a puro legend won his first WWE title at a NXT live special, this guy got more Smark love than anyone...

2016, y'all.

  • After the one-man band who stood up to Brock Lesnar, TakeOver: Brooklyn II does dominate our list, including four spots for the phenomenal tag match which saw The Revival retain their straps over #DIY.
  • The departing Hugster charts a lot higher than the woman who defeated her in New York, as the NXT Women's champ finished in the last point-earning spot in the Standings (the Empress of Tomorrow has finished in the top ten three times this year, and has three annual points to show for it).
  • On the men's side, only the new champ placed - and just in front of the guy he was supposed to feud with in Japan before he signed with WWE. As the first gaijin to win a G1, that guy is doing okay, though.
  • EVOLVE out to put the title on the guy who came in 9th last week, Bro.

The S3: 2016-17, Week 20

1. Heath Slater
2. Scott Dawson
3. Dash Wilder
4. Bayley
5. Shinsuke Nakamura
6. Kenny Omega
7. Johnny Gargano
8. Tommaso Ciampa
9. Matt Riddle
10. Asuka

Points in our weekly Standings determine our annual list - full details on rules and scoring HERE.

Another sign of our crazy year - even though no one in last week's top ten was appearing in their first weekly S3 of the year, none of them are on top in our yearly Standings, so this looks exactly the same as it did seven days ago...

The S3 Performer of the Year - through the Week Ending Aug. 20

1. AJ Styles - 128
2. Dean Ambrose - 76

3. Kevin Owens - 75.5
4. Seth Rollins - 59
5. Cesaro - 56.5
6. Roman Reigns - 49
7. Matt Hardy - 33.5
8. (tie) Sami Zayn - 29.5
8. (tie) Sasha Banks - 29.5
10. John Cena - 27

Another jam-packed week of pro graps, with SummerSlamRaw, Smackdown, NXTCWC, Impact - and whatever else you found time and/or a way to get in you device of choice. Process all that choreographed violence, then hit us with your favorite performances. We'll count it all up and let you know who won next Sunday!
