Heading into SummerSlam 2016, Roman Reigns wrestled on 14 straight pay-per-view (PPV) events. The last time he did not wrestle on a PPV occurred at Elimination Chamber 2015, though he did show up after the main event to help Dean Ambrose beat up some members of The Authority.

Roman Reigns was penciled in for a match at SummerSlam 2016, but his fight with Rusev never officially began. As a result, Roman’s streak of wrestling on 14 straight PPVs came to an end. Fans of Roman should take solace in the fact that Reigns has still appeared in some form or another on every single PPV going all the way back to Survivor Series 2014, where he was interviewed via satellite.

With that in mind let’s take a look at which wrestlers have currently wrestled on the most consecutive PPVs in the aftermath of SummerSlam 2016. The only rules are that the wrestler must have wrestled on the main card of the PPV (sorry pre-show fans) and wrestled for more than zero seconds.

  • 16 events - Kevin Owens
  • 14 events - Charlotte
  • 10 events - Dean Ambrose
  • 8 events - AJ Styles
  • 5 events - Natalya
  • 4 events - Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson
  • 3 events - Kofi, Becky, Enzo, Cass, Cena, Rollins

And here are some of the streaks that ended at SummerSlam 2016. Sami Zayn was a victim of the pre-show rule.

  • 14 events - Roman Reigns
  • 5 events - Sami Zayn
  • 3 events - Rusev, Big E

Of course the upcoming brand-only PPVs are going to kill every single one of these streaks, but if we don’t count Raw-only PPVs against the SmackDown Live roster (and vice versa), then it will be interesting to see how long Kevin Owens and Charlotte can keep these streaks active.
