Considering last night’s (Aug. 22, 2016) episode of Monday Night Raw came one night after the SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV), it was expected viewership would be up. Sure enough, after two consecutive weeks of under 3 million, the show drew 3.31 million viewers this week.
It’s worth noting they didn’t have to go up against the Olympics.
They still had trouble maintaining interest throughout the show, however:
Hour one: 3.46 million
Hour two: 3.37 million
Hour three: 3.11 million
The show opened with Finn Balor vacating the Universal championship and closed with Roman Reigns earning his way into a Fatal 4-Way to determine the new champ next week. The hope, of course, is the increased viewers will be interested enough to stick around.
Football season looms large.
