It feels like NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn was forever ago, what with all the madness surrounding the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV), but we’re still getting fallout from one of the developmental brand’s biggest shows of the year. This time, it’s word from two of the wrestlers on the show suffered injuries.
First, Samoa Joe, who lost his NXT championship to Shinsuke Nakamura in the main event:
Jaw dislocated & shortly relocated. Looking forward to being cleared soon.

Then, Austin Aries revealed he also took a hard one that messed him up:
Ruptured eardrum at #NXTTakeOver thanks to sockless loafer boy, @HideoItami. Won't cost much to repair, but I'll save the receipt for you.
— Austin Healy Aries (@AustinAries) August 22, 2016
Aries defeated No Way Jose before Hideo Itami showed up to deliver the very first televised GTS since he arrived in NXT. Yes, Aries could be playing up injury in support of the angle, but there’s his word. Take him for it or don’t.
