As you’ve probably heard by now, the main event of the 29th SummerSlam ended in bizarre and controversial fashion.
Brock Lesnar went in for some MMA-style ground-and-pound on his opponent, Randy Orton, and one of his elbows opened up a huge gash on the Viper’s forehead (WWE says it took ten staples to close). Orton seems woozy and in fact didn’t defend himself from a couple of other stiff-looking shots before he turtled up and waited for officials to pull Brock away.
Fans at home on WWE Network and live in Brooklyn could see Randy was bleeding profusely, and the bout was stopped moments later.
Other shenanigans followed - the shoot/work nature of which will likely be debated for a long time to come. What really shouldn’t be debated is the cut Lesnar created on his opponents head. As Kevin Nash points out in his Tweet of the following photo - a blade job don’t look like that.
If you’re squeamish, look away.
No, seriously.
That's gonna leave a mark. People are wondering if it was a blade job. I was looking for someone in the grassy knoll pic.twitter.com/n49IpQgUVK

OMG.
We’ll keep you posted with any updates on Orton’s status or WWE’s plans to address Lesnar tonight on Raw.
