UPDATE: He’s definitely hurt, and what’s worse he’ll have to vacate his Universal title because of it.
In the wee hours of the morning after an eventful WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view (PPV) on Aug. 21, 2016, PWInsider posted what they called a confirmed report that new WWE Universal champion Finn Bálor suffered an injury during his match with Seth Rollins in Brooklyn.
Mike Johnson’s sources indicated the Irishman left Barclays Center wearing a sling amidst concerns it was a serious injury which might require surgery, possibly to his right shoulder.
Sounds horrible - and there definitely a couple spots in the bout where Finn’s shoulder could have been injured. Insider points out he did not raise his right arm as he was celebrating with the title after his win.
But, could that just be a case of a good sales job by Bálor?
The new champ was on ABC’s Good Morning America hours ago, and no sling - but not a lot of right arm movement, either:
PWInsider says the champ will be examined today, and WWE will make a decision on how to proceed based on their medical teams’s determination of the severity of the injury.
