The United States title feud between Rusev and Roman Reigns has become as much about Lana as the championship.
A loooong match from this past Monday’s night was actually billed as being for the Ravishing Russian’s honor. That Raw match saw the challenger Reigns take a ton of punishment but overcome in the end. Their SummerSlam match tonight (Aug. 21) in Brooklyn continued in the same vein.
Following Lana’s introduction for her husband, the action started before the bell and didn’t let up. Rusev attacked Reigns, forcing both men to the outside. The Big Dog turned the tide, and grabbed a chair and went to work on the Bulgarian Brute’s midsection.
When the officials pulled him off the champ, trainers checked on Rusev and determined the match couldn’t happen. While he was being helped to the ramp, Roman returned, running down the ramp to Spear RuRu again.
After a pre-match brawl between @WWERomanReigns and @RusevBUL, their @SummerSlam match was called off due to injury. https://t.co/j6oIGnifAo

This clearly isn’t over, but we’ll see if an injury angle is forthcoming for the champ.
