Possible spoiler for SummerSlam

Based on the way it’s presented by its source, I’d take this report with a large grain of salt, but there’s speculation we could get a major return at SummerSlam, Aug. 21 in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Due to Eva Marie’s Wellness suspension, there’s an opening in the six-woman tag match planned for the pay-per-view (PPV). WWE quickly turned the fact that Alexa Bliss & Natalya were in need of a partner for their bout against Becky Lynch, Carmella & Naomi into an angle.

According to PWInsider, that could be because they plan to use the spot to launch the next big star of SmackDown Live’s women’s division - the recently cleared Nikki Bella.

The longest-reigning Divas champ in the history arrived in New York City last night. Since plans reportedly put Nikki on the blue brand, Mike Johnson is saying it’s “entirely possible” she could return to the ring in place of Eva tonight.

Bella could also be there to support her man, John Cena, or film for Total Divas, or any number of other reasons she would go to New York City. But, while it doesn’t seem like anyone is going on record saying she will return - Johnson is right that it seems like circumstances are aligning such that it would make sense to bring her back tonight for the first time since she appeared at WrestleMania 32 to celebrate the end of sister Brie’s in-ring career.
