After initially promising to make a stink about his wife Eva Marie’s first suspension under WWE’s Wellness Policy, there are signs Jonathan Coyle may be backing away from a public fight with a company who not only pays Eva for her work on SmackDown Live, NXT and Total Divas, but who also provides a very large spotlight from which she can launch outside ventures.
Almost 24 hours have passed since Coyle said an “official statement and facts” were “coming soon” about Eva’s suspension which would “absolutely” outrage her fans, and there’s been no further comment. In fact, he has deleted the Tweet which vowed to involve the public in the matter between his wife and WWE. Also deleted is an Instagram of the Tweet.
Still up is an Instagram repost from his wife, the message accompanying which focuses on supporting Eva Marie (real name Natalie Coyle) rather than fighting her bosses:
It is my honor to go through every storm life may throw at us with this woman. I'm proud to be your husband.
As discussed in today’s Rumor Roundup, Justin LaBar of the Pittsburgh Tribune also vocally defended Eva Maria. In this video, the journalist hints whatever it was she failed for was somehow cleared by WWE officials.
Especially if that’s true, we yet may hear more from Coyle. Or, he may let friends and the media make the case that his wife’s been wronged while personally playing nice with WWE.
We’ll keep you posted.
