Bill Goldberg will be in New York City this weekend for SummerSlam. Sure, he’s officially doing promotion for 2K Studios, the holder of the WWE video game license with whom he has a contractual relationship, and not Vince McMahon’s company.
But that’s not gonna stop wrestling fans (and fan blogs) from wondering about the possibility of a return to the ring.
Facebook videos featuring WWE 2K17 coverboy Brock Lesnar and his Advocate Paul Heyman, congratulating Goldberg for being a pre-order exclusive "supporting character" in the game and featuring the Beast Incarnate challenging the WCW icon using his own catchphrase - again, totally within the framework of selling the game, which releases on Oct. 11 - aren’t going to help, either.
I've got a special message for @Goldberg regarding #WWE2K17. @WWEgames @HeymanHustlehttps://t.co/SMuc295Fc3

UPDATE: Seems the video has been deleted from Brock's Facebook. Factor that into your thinking as you will.
UPDATE UPDATE: It's been released on Twitter - that's now above.
In case that disappears or you can't play it where you are, here's a transcript:
["Next Big Thing" playing]
Heyman: Ladies and gentleman, my name is Paul Heyman and I think everyone [clapping] should stand up and applaud Bill Goldberg for being a supporting player in the video game that stars the Beast, the Conquerer... Brock Lesnar.
Lesnar: Hey Bill. You're next.
Could we be headed to Lesnar/Goldberg II, possibly for WrestleMania 33 in Orlando next April? Or is this just 2K using fan interest (whether for legitimate or train wreck reasons) in such a match to sell games?
