Shawn Michaels reportedly takes full-time coaching job at WWE Performance Center

According to PWInsider, Shawn Michaels is moving to Orlando to take a job working for best bud Triple H. The Hall of Famer, who retired from in-ring competition after WrestleMania 26 back in 2010, will become a full-time coach at the Performance Center.

Someone was needed for a coaching role when Terry Taylor recently underwent neck surgery. Michaels will run the “finishing class” (which, sadly, is not focused on superkicks) for which Taylor was responsible. It’s not clear, but seems likely this is a temporary role for HBK, who’s managed sponsorships and other television gigs from his Texas ranch since leaving WWE.

WWE Developmental has brought in a number of guest coaches over the past year, such as Chikara’s Mike Quackenbush and Stevie Richards. Michaels, who ran a wrestling school in the 1990s which was attended by Daniel Bryan & Brian Kendrick, could just be filling in to help out - time will tell. Taylor is still with the company while rehabbing.

But for at least the next little while, the NXT roster and other recent signees will be learning from one of the greatest of all-time... ole HBShizzle.

UPDATE: PWInsider is walking back the whole story. Apparently Taylor is already back teaching and while Michaels has been offered a position, he hasn’t committed to moving to Orlando just yet.

UPDATE 2: Jim Ross says he took the job, and the whole Michaels clan is already in Florida.

We’ll keep you posted.
