Perhaps hearing the complaints of the Cageside Seats’ Previews department (but probably not) or in an effort to keep interest in their live Tuesday broadcasts high, especially while competing against the Olympics (much more likely), WWE has announced a couple of marquee segments for the next episode of SmackDown Live. The Aug. 16 broadcast on USA Network will also be the last show before SummerSlam weekend in Brooklyn.
Up first is a rematch ten months in the making, as John Cena will get ready for his latest battle against AJ Styles by facing the man who took his U.S. title ten months ago at Hell in a Cell, Alberto Del Rio.
In addition to that match, the blue brand will also use The Miz and his talk show gimmick to continue the build toward their marquee bout on Sunday, as WWE titleholder Dean Ambrose and #1 contender Dolph Ziggler will be the Awesome One’s guests on Miz TV.
Maybe Apollo Crews can show up and remind everybody about the Intercontinental title feud, too.
Does knowing about this in advance get you more hyped for Tuesday?
