Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the pro wrestling rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt.

Rumors for the Day:

  • According to the Observer, Vince McMahon hasn't been at WWE television for the past two weeks and won't be back until SummerSlam but he's still been managing Raw and SmackDown from the phone.
  • If AJ Styles defeats John Cena at SummerSlam, it could mean he's in line to work a program for the WWE championship.
  • It's expected that WWE will add at least two more matches to the SummerSlam event, even though it already has nine scheduled.
  • The Observer notes that Joey Styles' getting released by WWE was "a shock to most in the company."
  • Any talks between WWE and MVP are "now dead," according to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
