TNA Impact ratings (July 5, 2016): The Final Deletion sets new Impact Pop TV record

TNA Wrestling YouTube

The numbers are in for TNA Impact this week, and love it or hate it, the Final Deletion was a rousing success for the promotion. According to Showbuzzdaily, Impact pulled in 410K viewers, which is far above the previous highest total they set at 359K back in May. And that’s 90K more than they had the week prior.

Seeing on the buzz on-line surrounding it before, after, and during, with people who never talk about TNA talking about TNA, it’s not surprising that this did so well for them. TNA and the Hardy brothers did something different and outside the box for a larger wrestling promotion and it paid off for them.

The question now how the numbers in the subsequent weeks will do. The show surrounding the Final Deletion event was also good, so perhaps some of the new viewers may stick around and give them another week. While not all 410K viewers are going to be back, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s a higher number than they had been posting prior. Of course, it’s less than two weeks until WWE SmackDown goes live on Tuesday so any lasting bump they could see from the Final Deletion may unfortunately be short lived.

Here are the ratings for the past month:

  • June 28: 322K
  • June 21: 304K
  • June 14: 210,000 (327,000 if including encore numbers)
  • June 7: 326,000
