Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks for the women’s title match official for SummerSlam

WWE announced today on WWE.com that Sasha Banks will defend her newly won Women’s Championship against Charlotte at SummerSlam on August 21.

Sasha Banks won the Women’s title against Charlotte on the first episode of a brand split Raw last Monday in a move that surprised many. It was long expected that this match up would be the women’s title program for SummerSlam but with Sasha challenging and not defending.

The two superstars had a superb match on Raw and will now look to follow up with an even better one at the biggest show of the summer. This has only been the fourth match announced for the show thus far, hopefully meaning it will be one of the big featured matches on the card.

The SummerSlam card so far:

• Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks (c) for the Women’s Championship
• Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar
• Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins for the new WWE Universal Championship
• Dolph Ziggler vs. Dean Ambrose (c) for the WWE Championship
