Paul Heyman WWE contract hold up reportedly over outside projects, still expected for SummerSlam

Paul Heyman

Word came this week that Paul Heyman’s contract with WWE has expired and that’s why he’s hardly been mentioned on television and his name wasn’t attached to Brock Lesnar at the draft on SmackDown. As it turns out, his deal ran out back in May and the two sides have been negotiating ever since.

However, according to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the hold up is with Heyman’s “outside projects.” Some of those projects include a reality show and a recent deal with Yahoo Sports.

But there’s good news.

The report notes the two sides are expected to get a new deal done by SummerSlam so Heyman can get back to being an advocate for Brock Lesnar, who is scheduled to wrestle Randy Orton in one of the bigger matches on the show.
