Rumor Roundup (July 23, 2016): Heat on Gotch & Wyatt, draft & title plans, new veteran signings, more!

Speculating on the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favored pastime of many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors being churned out by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Rumors for the Day:

• Cesaro may not have been the only one whose Draft day was affected by backstage heat. There’s some talk management didn’t like Bray Wyatt responding to Matt Hardy the week before, and was slipped to the third round as a result. It could also be why Braun Strowman went to Raw.

• Current plans call for the Draft to occur every year around this time.

• PWInsider reports Simon Gotch was not at Friday’s house show in Delaware, and speculates it has something to do with his losing shoot battle against Sin Cara backstage at SmackDown on Tuesday. Whether he’s being punished or got hurt isn’t confirmed.

• As mentioned yesterday, it’s believed the WWE title will change hands this Sunday at Battleground. That’s likely to be the only one which does though, which is good news for Rusev & Miz.

• Teddy Long was on a podcast claiming MVP & Shelton Benjamin have been signed and will be back in WWE shortly. MVP is denying the report on social media; and Shelton reTweeted MVP. Check the Rumor Look Back in January 2017 to find out!
