The Miz says talent is as in the dark about the WWE draft as we are

Those of us out here in the WWE Universe have been getting the sense WWE is making things up as they go along - more than usual, even - when it comes to the brand split draft on SmackDown tonight (July 19).

Women’s champ Charlotte told us she’s got no idea what’s up with the Women’s division, and according to an interview with Intercontinental titleholder The Miz over at Fox Sports, it’s not just the ladies.

The talent in general knows just as much as we do. Here’s what he said in response to a question asking if he prefers to go to Raw or SmackDown:

No one knows anything about the draft. Nothing. The only thing we know are the rules that were revealed on WWE.com yesterday.

It’s not a huge deal if the wrestlers don’t know where they’re headed - and it probably makes it more likely fans will find out the make-up of each roster when they’re announced live. Wrestlers will work the same number of dates either way. Being separated from a travelling partner you’re used to splitted expenses and responsibilities with could be a pain, but with a pay-per-view (PPV) the entire roster is participating in scheduled for this Sunday, there’s a built-in adjustment period for that, too.

But, if it’s as it feels to viewers (and Miz’s quote hints at) and the details of the roster split are still up in the air... that’s not surprising, given what we’ve heard about WWE Creative. It’s still a weird way to run a business, though.

What do you think? Are they booking a major business initiative like the roster split on the fly? Is that a bad thing, or even that big of a deal?
