TNA wrapped a week at Universal Studios on Thursday night by finishing up one of their non-live pay-per-view (PPV) specials and taping an episode of Impact which gives us a better idea of what direction they’re headed in for Bound for Glory (whenever that happens)...
For Xplosion
- Grado def. Basille Baraka
For One Night Only: Xtravaganza PPV
- Suicide def. David Starr
- Eddie Edwards def. Caleb Konley
- Crazzy Steve def. Zenshi (Shynron)
- Braxton Sutter def. Crazzy Steve, DJZ, Chuck Taylor, Eddie Edwards, Suicide & Marshe Rockett in a Ladder Match to earn a future X Division Title shot
- Trevor Lee & Andrew Everett (w/Sahne Helms) def. The BroMans in an Ultimate X match
Impact (for Thursday, August 4*)
- Maria Kanellis booked Gail Kim in a handicap match against Knockouts champ Sienna & Allie; Kim won
- Lashley hit the ring to issue and open challenge; DJ Z answered to use his X-Division title shot; Lashley retains in a ladder match (still has both the X-Division and TNA World championships)
- Ethan Carter III speaks in a segment which ends with him catching a beating from Moose & Mike Bennett
- Mahabali Shera & Grado def. The Tribunal
- Matt Hardy announces a tag match for he & his brother. He will not help Jeff, however, and the Deleted One not be allowed to execute any moves from the top rope.
- The Hardys def. JT Dunn & Chuck Taylor. Matt was in full #Broken mode, including getting in an argument with and appearing to bite a fan. He also ran in at the last minute to steal the pin from Brother Nero. Chuckie T worked the ONO taping earlier this week, but this will be his first TV appearance for TNA.
- James Storm def. Eli Drake to become the new King of the Mountain champ (and retain his God-given right to drink beer). Lashley came out in the aftermath and issued a challenge, which The Cowboy accepted. Looks like the Destroyer is collecting belts...
- EC3 def. Bennett in the Bound for Glory playoff final. Eddie Edwards appeared to counter interference from Moose.
* It’s possible or even likely some of this will be used to fill out the episodes for next week and July 28 which were shot Tuesday and Wednesday.
So while the Hardys seem to be drifting back to more conventional wrestling stuff - although this could be augmented with a lot of footage and segments shot elsewhere - it looks like we’re building toward EC3 vs. Lashley with ALL THE TITLES.
