For whatever reason (likely to get in on the sweet, sweet social media traffic Matt Hardy proved could be generated by wrestling in a country field), WWE tag champs The New Day visited Bray Wyatt’s “compound” on the July 11 edition of Raw.
There was some pushing and shoving, the Eater of Worlds almost murdered Xavier Woods with a pick-axe a couple of times... you know, the usual. Then a bunch of folks in sheep masks showed up with lanterns and everybody let Woods, Kofi Kingston & Big E leave.
So, logically, now they’ll have a six-man match at Battleground. Meaning the titles aren’t on the line.
But that’s okay, because as WWE.com informs us, “they fight for something far more precious: The positivity that fuels their very souls.”
Sounds serious.
This match will join a July 24 card that’s rapidly filling up:
- Dean Ambrose (c) vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE championship
- Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens
- Becky Lynch vs. Natalya
- John Cena and Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. The Club (AJ Styles, Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows)
- The Miz (c) vs. Darren Young for the Intercontinental championship
- Rusev (c) vs. Zack Ryder for the United States title
- Randy Orton talks his SummerSlam match against Brock Lesnar on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel
