It didn’t take a genius to recognize #TheFinalDeletion’s influence on the segment from Raw last night (July 11) when The New Day visited the Wyatt Family compound. Heck, even I recognized it.
While not a carbon copy for a litany of reasons, it was clearly not a coincidence WWE would decide to present an outdoor fight less than a week after Matt and Jeff Hardy’s feud-ender (for now) became an internet sensation for TNA.
And a couple of stars of Impact Wrestling and the angle itself commented on the influence their work had on Raw.
The man credited with coming up with the Broken Matt Hardy vs. (the now-deleted) Brother Nero program began by responding to others who were pointing out the similarities:
wwe creative... i knew you'd come.#raw pic.twitter.com/tXpwwx4nih

My #BROKEN brilliance is trendsetting.

I AM THE WAY.#TheFinalDeletion https://t.co/UuCS86cWil
After seeing what Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Erick Rowan, Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston & Big E got up to, he commented again - with a plug for his own work:
I see that the #GreatWar has become inter-promotional..

I now have a myriad of #BrotherNeros to DELETE!https://t.co/GUZPazDywX
His wife, Reby, was more direct:
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO IF THIS SHIT DONT LOOK FAMILIAR !!!!!!
— Reby Hardy (@RebySky) July 12, 2016
And more than shouting out her man, she repped for their landscaper (who was played by her father):
Real cute, but yall ain't shit without @BenjaminSenor #RAW
— Reby Hardy (@RebySky) July 12, 2016
Stop playin, we all know @BenjaminSenor is under that goat mask. #RAW
— Reby Hardy (@RebySky) July 12, 2016
What do you think, Cagesiders? Should the Hardys be honored, or outraged?
One thing we can all agree on, though, is that it needed more Senor Benjamin...
