It was announced tonight that Seth Rollins will challenge Dean Ambrose for the WWE title next week on Raw, one day prior to the WWE draft on the first live SmackDown.
Seth Rollins came to the ring tonight once again demanding that Roman Reigns should be removed from the Battleground main event. This eventually prompted the champion Ambrose to respond. When Rollins got on Dean for being too jokey and having too much fun, the champ got serious. He told Seth that despite not being champion until recently, he is the face of WWE and has been for a long while. He reminded Rollins that he’s a man who will do whatever it takes to keep the title, and he had no problem giving his Shield brother a match one on one for the gold next week.
This will not only likely be a really good match to headline Raw (and it’s not often the WWE title is defended on the show), but it could get more people to tune in for the multiple reminders that live SmackDown and the brand split are the next day.
You excited, Cagesiders?
