Alberto Del Rio hopes to retire with WWE, says he has ‘3-5 more years in wrestling’

When asked by Sportskeeda what he thinks is next considering he’s already achieved so much in WWE in his career, Alberto Del Rio gave a timeline for his exit from professional wrestling:

“I have been blessed when it comes to winning the titles as I have won it all and I am always in the scheme of things. I want to become champion one more time and there is one more title I would need to win in WWE to say, ‘I have won all the titles you have to win in this company’ which is the Intercontinental title. Once it’s done, I think I am ready to say goodbye to the sport. I think I have 3-5 more years in wrestling and I am hoping I spend all those years in WWE.”

Well, there is a battle royal set for Raw tonight in Detroit to determine the next number one contender to The Miz’s Intercontinental championship...

Del Rio is already 39-years-old and has, as he noted, just about accomplished all there is to do not just in WWE but in the wrestling industry. He may never get another run at the top, although the brand split could create an opportunity for as much, but it sounds like he’s just fine with that.
