- The Observer has noted that Dean Ambrose was planned to lose the WWE championship at Battleground before Roman Reigns was suspended but that plan may have changed.
- If it hasn't, Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins is likely the WWE title match at SummerSlam this year.
- Other matches planned for SummerSlam include Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton, John Cena vs. AJ Styles, and Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (likely Banks' big title victory).
