Just like the Brock Lesnar UFC 200 news, reports that UFC strawweight fighter Paige VanZant could be headed to WWE SummerSlam are progressing at a rapid pace.

The rumor she could be a key piece of an informal talent exhange brought about by Lesnar's upcoming appearance in the Octagon on July 9 just started yesterday (June 6), and today it's being covered by not only wrestling media like Wrestling Observer and PWInsider, but also Fox Sports.

VanZant's manager, Mike Roberts, confirmed to Fox that WWE has reached out to her camp. The company also gave a confirmation to the Observer that talks were ongoing.

No word on what the angle would be (Roberts would only say the inquiry involved her appearing on the August 20 pay-per-view (PPV) "in some capacity"), but WWE is surely looking to capitalize on the 22 year old's crossover appeal. UFC invested a great deal in promoting her - an effort which hit a snag when she was soundly defeated by Rose Namajunas last December.

Since then, however, she's buoyed her fame with a run to the finals of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. UFC decided to hold off on placing the former Invicta standout on the card Lesnar will be filling out, because her success on the reality competition made it so she wouldn't be able to have a full training camp.

The blonde from Oregon is also drawing interest from Hollywood, and is reportedly set for a role in the 2017 sequel to the Dave Bautista-lead Kickboxer reboot.

Does this crossover appeal to you, Cagesiders? Will it appeal to the mainstream? What should they have PVZ do in Brooklyn?
