TNA Impact Ratings (June 28, 2016): Viewership numbers bounce back

TNA Wrestling YouTube

TNA Impact stopped its numbers slide this week. After slipping down to 304K viewers last week, they were back up to 322K this week. (Oddly enough, the ratings number itself ticked down from 0.09 to 0.08. The intricacies of ratings calculations is a bit beyond this wrestling blogger to explain the reasonings why.)

(Update: The ratings only take into account the prime 18-49 year old demographic. So while viewership was up, it was not up for that age range.)

Last night’s advertised TNA title match that featured three of the company’s biggest stars likely had a hand in earning back 20K viewers. Now they look to keep the trend alive next week with the advertised Hardy Brother’s match taped at the Sanctuary of their Genesis (Matt Hardy’s backyard). It may prove to be an awesome affair with fireworks guns and everything. Hopefully for the promotion, the popular Hardy Brothers having a match that will encapsulate the enjoyment of their feud will get people to keep tuning in.

Here are the ratings for the past month:

  • June 21: 304K
  • June 14: 210,000 (327,000 if including encore numbers)
  • June 7: 326,000
  • May 31: 346,000

You can read a recap of last night’s episode here.
