WWE NXT live results (June 29, 2016): Who’ll challenge The Revival?

Here's a place to check results and comment along with the latest airing of WWE NXT in its regular Wednesday night at 8PM Eastern time slot on WWE Network.

Check out our Wednesday morning preview post to get caught up on what's been happening, and what we expect this week.

We'll post match results here, and we will also have our regular reactions post later. In the meantime, and most importantly, this gives you Cagesiders a dedicated place to rave and/or bitch about whatever goes down on the best show WWE produces on a weekly basis - during its initial broadcast!

NOTE: Spoilers are out there for these pre-taped broadcasts (including here), but many Cagesiders don't partake. If you are going to post or discuss spoilers for this show before they happen, or results of future shows, please use the spoiler bar in your comment.

Enjoy the show!

- Alexa Bliss def. Carmella via pinfall following via Twisted Bliss (formerly the Sparkle Splash)

- Recap of Finn Bálor/Shinsuke Nakamura face-off from two weeks ago, followed by exclusive comments from Nakamura explaining why he feels he needs to face his friend Finn, and promising a sensational match

- Cathy Kelley checks in with Bayley after he return last week, who says she's ready for her rematch with Asuka for the title. Bliss barges in and says the Hugster doesn't deserve a shot at Asuka. She says she enjoyed destroying Carmella, and she'll love beating Bayley on her way to the championship.

- Andrane "Cien" Almas def. Noah Potjes via pinfall following Running Double Knees

- Backstage, Andrea D'Marco asks Austin Aries to explain his attack on No Way Jose last week. He blames the fans for not appreciating him and cheering someone who hasn't done a fraction of what he's done in the business. From here on out, everything A-Double does is the fan's fault.

- Bálor explains how deep his friendship with Nakamura is, and how he helped Shinsuke get acclimated to NXT just as he helped him get settled into Japan. Even though they've faced each other before, he says this one is special because a lot has changed, and this time it's in NXT.

- Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss is announced for next week

- Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa def. Hype Bros via pinfall following their Superkick/Running Knee combo

- Johnny Wrestling with a microphone saying their recent wins put them in line for a title shot, which brings out American Alpha. Chad Gable says they're first in line, but Gargano & Ciampa can have a shot when they've got their belts back. Jason Jordan says they also have to get revenge against Authors of Pain.

- That brings out the champs, who call Garganzo & Chimpi "good hands" and say everyone in the ring will be disappointed, because they dictate the terms. General Manager William Regal appears to remind The Revival that HE dictates terms around here, and makes a two-out-of-three falls tag match between American Alpha and Dash & Dawson for next week.

- Gable & Jordan shake hands with Ciampa & Gargano, who leave. As they're walking up the ramp, Authors of Pain sneak in and attack the Alphas. Johnny & Tommaso return but are dispatched quickly, but the allow JJ to hit a suplex on one of the AoP. They take out both the former champs with their tandem clothesline/leg sweep move before Paul Ellering appears to summon them to the stage.
