Goldberg: ‘WWE has not called me to be a part of any roster’

After the flurry of rumors and reports about WWE trying to sign just about any wrestler who could still lace up the boots for their upcoming brand split, not much has developed.

It wouldn’t make sense for any of the names mentioned to debut now, weeks away from the July 19 talent draft, but the chatter hasn’t pointed toward any of the names in those teases actually returning to Vince McMahon’s employ.

Setting aside whatever it is that may or may not be going on with Kurt Angle, there was some word the contract offers weren’t that spectacular, and a potential enhancement talent who was named said his phone hasn’t rung.

Now, a potential big fish is saying he hasn’t had a conversation with Vince or anyone out of Stamford either. Goldberg told 411mania in an interview:

WWE has not called me to be a part of any roster. My relationship with WWE stands with the video game and the video game only. If they want to extend an olive branch and pick up the phone, then I will make a comment on that once they do it. But prior to that, nothing’s been done.

He goes on to say what he usually does about the door being open, and, of course, if he was trying for a surprise return, this is exactly what he would say.

But just going on what we have here, it sounds like the reconciliation process still has a long way to go.
