The saga continues.
Just a week ago, Kurt Angle’s name popped up in reports as one of the many WWE reached out to about a possible return for the upcoming draft in support of the brand split. That was followed up on with the Olympic Hero saying he would be returning to the company, he just didn’t know when. Just a couple days later, the Observer reported he wouldn’t be returning, which led to Angle releasing even more comments attempting to clear up his initial remarks.
Now, Angle has given an interview to Sports Illustrated where he again says a return is in the cards but it won’t be anytime soon:
“I had a talk with WWE. It’s confidential. I will not be returning for the draft. Possibly in the future, most likely next year, but that is not a guarantee. It was a loose conversation but I will be in touch with Triple H [Paul Levesque] in the future.”
That certainly makes it sound like WWE is willing to talk more once Angle wraps up his in-ring career but without his going into detail, there’s really no way to be sure. What we can be sure about is the fact that he’s not coming back anytime soon.
Sorry!
