Each and every episode of Lucha Underground features maneuvers, quotes, outfits, props, scenes, and stories that deserve recognition. That is where the Tope 10 come in. This list shows appreciation for the moments which are more exciting than a flying tope.
If you are new to the Lucha Underground scene, you can catch it Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT on the El Rey Network or buy season one and season two on iTunes. See if El Rey is available in your area. If you haven't had a chance to watch this week's episode yet, then check out the preview, live blog & open thread, recap, highlight package, and the Parejas Increibles match with Sexy Star and Mariposa against Taya and Ivelisse for Aztec medallions.
10. Sexy Star going round and round

This moment didn't leave a lasting impression during the show, but the GIF form of that twirl mesmerizes me upon each viewing. Perhaps it can hypnotize some of you into becoming Sexy Star fans.
9. Mascarita Sagrada going for a spin

— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
It never gets old watching Mascarita flung through the air.
8. Taya laughing off her accidental spear of Ivelisse
.@SexyStarAAA dodges the Spear and @TheTayaValkyrie impales her own teammate! #LuchaUnderground pic.twitter.com/egf6NJjksE
— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
Taya is so good with her reactions and mannerisms. She really comes across as a larger than life personality.
As for the spear, add another log to flame the fire between Taya and Ivelisse. At this point, I'm going to be very disappointed if we don't get Ivelisse vs Taya at Ultima Lucha Dos.
7. Upset special?
Mascarita catches @Daga_Wrestler off guard and nearly gets the pin! #LuchaUnderground pic.twitter.com/R9keBvgeX9
— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
For a split second, I thought Mascarita Sagrada was going to get the victory. He's due for a win, and that would have been a sweet one. Alas, it was not to be.
6. "I am the giver of opportunities."
During Dario Cueto's convo session with El Dragon Azteca Jr., Cueto delivered that slick line like a boss. They don't call him El Jefe just because he is in charge of the Temple. Or maybe they do. I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, Azteca Jr. set it up by saying, "What are you? Other than a liar." Such insolence.
5. Famous B heeling

— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
Not only did Famous B have a heel turn, he also beat Mascarita Sagrada with the heel of his shoe. It was heelacious.
Even though the seeds were planted in their last appearance by Famous B's exasperated facial expression after Mascarita Sagrada was defeated, the superkick still caught me by surprise. The saddest part of their breakup was B draping his custom coat over the body of Mascarita. It made me feel feelings.
I don't condone the attack, but I can't say I blame B for the termination. Mascarita has zero wins under Famous B's guidance. Whether B gets a new client or faces Mascarita himself, I'm looking forward to the next chapter in this story.
Vinnie Massaro tweeted that he called 423-GET-FAME and was told he was a loser like Mascarita Sagarada. I'm not sure if that is real or if Sr. Massaro was making a joke. Can someone in the US please call that number and give confirmation? It would be so awesome if true.
4. The introduction of Panthro
Welcome to #LuchaUnderground, Night Claw! pic.twitter.com/xai8AJbrTc
— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
Err, I mean Night Claw. I love the tie in to Prince Puma and the jaguar tribe. Night Claw has a pretty cool look with the mask and outfit. Based on the performer's reputation, I'm very eager to see him in action at Ultima Lucha Dos.
Night Claw sure does remind me of Panthro from Thundercats. I can only hope Night Claw uses nunchucks as well. He has a deep voice like Panthro, but, unlike the Russell Huxtable voiced character, I can't understand what Night Claw is saying. There needs to be Spanish subtitles along with the English ones.
I wouldn't mind one bit if they started bringing Thundercats' characters over. We already have Prince Puma as Lion-O and Konnan as Jaga. I can't wait for El Torito to show up as Snarf. Does that mean the limo master will be Mumm-Ra? Decrepit human form and muscle man wrestling form? Lucha. Lucha. Lucha. Lucha Underground. Hoooo!
3. Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli, lolli, lolli

Do you want ants, Killshot? Because that’s how you get ants. #LuchaUnderground pic.twitter.com/evTHrhVuAb

Best comedy moment of the night. The expressions and reactions of the lollipop exchanges were fantastic.
2. Killshot's stepoff moonsault
Killshot has something he needs to get off Cortez Castro’s chest. It’s a Moonsault. #LuchaUnderground pic.twitter.com/V9fnFyy6oV

The coolest move of the night.
1. "You are still a prince and I am el rey."
BREAKING NEWS: Prince Puma vs @ReyMysterio is set for #UltimaLucha Dos... and it’s gonna be lit! #LuchaUnderground pic.twitter.com/OAi0UA0SKH
— Lucha Underground (@LuchaElRey) June 23, 2016
Great content in Prince Puma's speech. It perfectly established the motivation for their matchup. "... And it's true. Rey is the best. And when you're around someone that good for that long, you start to wonder. You start to think what do I have to offer. Am I? Am I the next Rey Mysterio? Or maybe, just maybe I'm better. And that is something I have to know. I have to know just how good I am. So, Rey Mysterio, mi amigo, will you fight me at Ultima Lucha Dos?"
Rey was not to be outdone with his badass reply. He delivered that line with equal parts respect and smacking down Puma to Know His Role Boulevard. Rey stated his motivation as well, "... I need to know if I'm still the best."
That was a simple yet effective way to set up a hero vs hero dream match. It is going to be dope, even more dope than Puma's black mask.
In last week's poll, Pentagon Jr.'s performance stole the show in Six to Survive for 50% of 147 votes. The glamorous duo of Johnny Mundo (21%) and Taya (18%) rounded out the top three.
How does this week's Tope 10 stack up to your list? Any favorites not included? If you were late to the viewing party, feel free to share your thoughts about anything in the episode.
While waiting for next week, check out Pentagon Jr.'s backstage promo last week. It turns out that there was a method to the madness of Vampiro's torture treatments. Pentagon Jr. has now become unbreakable. I'm not sure if that is literal or figurative, but it wouldn't surprise me if it was literal with how they operate in the Lucha Underground universe. Only time will tell.
The new #1 Contender for the #LuchaUnderground Championship, @PentagonJunior, has a message for Dario Cueto. https://t.co/hCSjdYOp1i
