After their first pay-per-view (PPV) of the year and subsequent tapings brought with them renewed talk of TNA’s dire financial straits, things have quietly returned to normal for Dixie Carter’s company.
Sure, normal means reports WWE is interesting in signing one of your top draws while a guy you let go because you didn’t think he was worth top dollar is main eventing for Vince McMahon... but it also means that your business keeps going despite doubters and haters.
Impact will film for three days in Orlando next month, including a semi-live broadcast on Pop TV which will hopefully go better than the last one.
PWInsider also says the company has re-signed a couple of well-known names from their X-Division ranks in Rockstar Spud and Trevor Lee. No word on how long the contracts are for, but those moves, along with the extension of World champ Lashley and the signing of Tough Enough contestant Chelsea Green, aren’t bad signs for the company’s future - at least in the short-term.
More opportunities for wrestlers is definitely a good thing, so let’s hope TNA can continue to build some positive momentum over these upcoming shows.
Who’s optimistic?
