El Rey Network

After last week’s one match show gave us a new #1 contender in Pentagon, Jr., you might think Dario Cueto (and the writers of Lucha Underground) would be content to build toward the epic showdown between champion Matanza and the man whose back he broke.

But seeing as how Cage’s Gift of the Gods cash-in wasn’t successful, and with a full Ultima Lucha Dos card to fill in a few weeks, El Jefe is putting the seven ancient Aztec Medallions back in play. And it looks like they may all be handed out tonight!

In singles action, Mascartia Sagrada will continue trying to get fame when he faces Daga - who might just be worried about that snake woman stalking him wherever he goes:

We’re also getting at least one Trios match, with medallions for each member of the winning squad. On one side, Joey Ryan, his police partner Cortez Castro and their semi-willing informant Mr. Cisco. On the other, Killshot and his unlikely crew of Marty the Moth and El Siniestro De La Muerte.

And while we have no details, the fine folks at El Rey sent us a picture of Taya kicking Sexy Star, so something is happening there - and given the episodes medallion-theme, there could be gold on the line.

PLUS, we’ve been promised a new luchador in the Temple. With the clock ticking down to the end of season two, any player introduced now is likely major.

See you tonight.
